Blue Light is a community policing initiative that aims to provide an opportunity for young people to be involved in a variety of entertainments. With over 24 years of expertise at Discos, they now have developed new activities for Victoria's young people such as Derby Hill Youth Camp, tennis coaching, Youth Forums, light horse brigade, pool parties, self defence classes and clinics for a variety of sports.

This handbook is another initiative by Blue Light to promote activities within your local, and more importantly, offer safety information on issues that our children are subjected to on a daily basis. Topics such as drugs, alcohol, bullying and family issues, to name a few, are covered in the handbook. Information on Blue Light events is also provided. The handbook will be delivered to all grade 6 primary school students.

The Police Citizens Youth Clubs (PCYC) are police community groups that started in 1926 and aim to provide opportunities for young people to be involved in a variety of sports and other activities. Throughout the state there are many halls equipped with gym facilities, ring for boxing, Judo and other types of sports. The venues are traditionally set up in areas where there is limited facilities and all branches are run as non profit.

This handbook is an official PCYC initiative, the information contained inside is directly relevant for the school leaver who is entering into the world of adulthood. There is vital information regarding drugs and the harm they cause, sexual issues, money, jobs, travelling, healthy mind and many more and will be delivered to all first year VCE students, up to 10,000 copies for each of the 7 areas.
